With current interest rates at a forty-year low, now is the right time to be thinking about purchasing.

The first thing for you to do is contact a lender and “get pre-approved” for your loan.
This will enable you to determine the price range right for you and will place you in a good position you to move quickly when you find a home that meets your needs. This step is a critical one in the home buying process. If you are already pre-approved for your loan by the time we locate a property, the seller will feel more comfortable with
your offer and will more often choose your offer over someone else’s.

While there are many lenders who would live to have your business, it is important to work with a reputable lender who has a long tract record of experience in mortgage and finance industry. Many lenders will offer teaser rates and “no upfront fees’ only to hit you at the signing with higher than expected interest rates and last minute disguised charges.

I cannot state enough the importance of working with a lender in the city you plan on purchasing your home. If you want to close on time and you want your loan documents to be prepared correctly, then you need to work with a mortgage professional in the city where you are buying your home. Ask any realtor or title officer and you will get the same answer.

If you want a smooth transaction, work with a local lender.

So think of the internet as a great way to check out what interest rates are doing, but remember . . . if you want service it is in your best interest to work with a local lender.
